J-Mac in doubt after somersaulting from horse at Wyong
Champion jockey James McDonald has been cleared to ride at Randwick on Saturday after he was involved in a fall at Wyong on Wyong Gold Cup Day.
But the ride on Alligator Blood in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes is now with Damien Oliver after Tim Clark was ruled out of his riding engagements following a fall in the Wyong Gold Cup.
The news comes following a drama-filled Wyong Cup program on Friday which saw McDonald part company from Godolphin galloper Razors in the Da Vinci 3&4YO Benchmark 68 Handicap (1300m).
McDonald was sent to Wyong Hospital immediately after for scans after complaining of pain in a foot and shoulder but was discharged at 8pm where he was cleared of any breaks.
The medical clearance paves the way for McDonald to take up his strong book of rides at Randwick on Saturday which includes Nature Strip in the Concorde Stakes and Montefelia in the Chelmsford Stakes.
Meanwhile, Brett Prebble has been cleared to ride but Regan Bayliss and Tim Clark have been ruled out of their riding engagements after the trio were involved in a nasty fall in the Wyong Gold Cup.
Bayliss, who was diagnosed with concussion following the Wyong fall, had five mounts at Randwick with replacement riders to come.
