Emma Watson's French messy bun is giving 'Bridgerton' vibes

It was only recently that Emma Watson debuted her new auburn red hair at the We Dare to Dream film premiere in London, and now she's changing up her look again in favour of the effortlessly-undone ‘French messy bun’.

Appearing on the cover of British Vogue, the actress takes the casual bun and elevates it, with her hairstylist Eugene Souleiman combining several styles in one.

Emma's cover-girl hairstyle is giving us major Bridgerton vibes, with her bun set high and feathered curls falling delicately on her face. Loose French braids are tied into her hair, falling at the nape of the neck in a totally-effortless-yet-perfectly-placed way. See for yourself:

How to recreate Emma Watson's French messy bun

While this style might look undone and effortless, we'll admit that this isn't as simple as twisting in a bun and securing it in place. Instead, you're going to need to be able to braid and prep your hair well beforehand. (Or alternatively, enlist a professional.)

1 - First, treat your hair with texture spray and set it into curls, whether using the overnight curl trick or a heated tool like a tong.

2 - Next, create sections at the side of your head, and plait the hair in French braids – pulling the hair loose to create that effortless look.

3 - Leave the top hair section free to twist into a bun on the top of your head. Allow the ends of your bun to hang out over your forehead like a faux fringe, à la Emma.

And there you have it – Emma Watson's French messy bun. Voilà, as they say!
